McKay Creek National Wildlife Refuge in Umatilla provides a resting and feeding area for thousands of Canada geese and ducks during autumn.
Pheasants are also common. The 1,837-acre refuge protects open water, marsh and grasslands.
Waterfowl hunting, boating, fishing and wildlife observation are available. Fishing is prohibited from Oct. 1 through the end of February.
