State Park Information

Olympic National Forest, surrounded on three sides by saltwater, is noted for its varied ecosystems. The forest on the Olympic Peninsula has a unique blend of marine climate, lush vegetation, wildlife and mountainous terrrain.

A walk in the Quinault Rain Forest reveals giant, moss-covered trees and emerald foliage covering the forest floor. Ancient Douglas fir and western red cedar trees stand more than 200 feet tall. Sitka spruce, western hemlock and Pacific silver fir are other native tree species common to the Olympic.

The Roosevelt elk is found here in greater numbers than anywhere else.

Puget Sound beaches combine with the rain forest environment to create a unique unusual national forest experience.

A Northwest Forest Pass or Golden Eagle Passport is required at most trailheads.
