State Park Information

Overlooking the Columbia River, Maryhill State Park is renowned for its boating, fishing, windsurfing and waterskiing.

Swimmers are welcome, though there is no lifeguard.

Camping, picnicking, hiking are also popular here. Seventy campsites with restrooms and two kitchen shelters are available.

The park is named for Mary Hill, wife of Sam Hill who was related to railroad tycoon James Hill. Sam Hill built his wife a castle-like building on a hill three miles from the park that today bears its name.

Sam Hill tried unsuccessfully to establish a colony of Belgian Quakers here before World War II. The home is now open to the public, as is a full-scale model of Stonehenge one mile from the park.
