Below the lake, the Green River boasts world-class fly fishing. Visitors raft the river to Little Hole and Browns Park. Neither a permit nor a commercial guide are required.
Backpacking, hiking, camping and picnicking are also popular recreation activities. There are many campgrounds within the recreation area.
Recreation passes can be purchased at the Flaming Gorge Ranger District in Manila, at Flaming Gorge Visitor Centers, at the Vernal Supervisor's Office, and at local businesses.
