One of the most commanding and spectacular views on the East Coast is at Brenton Point State Park.
Occupying the former grounds of one of Newport's grandest estates, the park is perched where Narragansett Bay meets the Atlantic, midway along renowned Ocean Drive.
Visitors can enjoy picnicking, hiking, fishing, or just relaxing with the cool breezes and majestic views of the Atlantic.
Summer in Newport is like no other place. July brings the Annual Newport Regatta, August resounds with the annual Folk Festival and the Newport Jazz Festival and September returns to the ocean with the Museum of Yachting Classic Yacht Regatta.
