Ricketts Glen is one of the most scenic and popular park areas in Pennsylvania. The 13,050-acre park includes two deep gorges that meet among giant pines. They create 22 waterfalls, including 94-foot Ganoga Falls.
A road leads to the top of Red Rock Mountain, where the park office, year-round campground, modern cabins and a lake are situated.
A steep foot trail passes through stands of giant pines, hemlocks and oaks in the scenic gorge. Many of the trees in the area are 500 years old. Because of the extensive variety of trees, autumn foliage is spectacular.
There are a total of 20 miles of foot trails in the park, which are used for snowmobiling and cross-country skiing in winter.
The park has wheelchair-accessible cabins and campsites, but there are no wheelchair-accessible trails.
