Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge, at the mouth of the Chester River on the eastern side of Chesapeake Bay, covers 2,285 acres and is a major feeding and resting site for migratory and wintering waterfowl.
Nearly six miles of roads and trails are open to visitors most of the year. There are wildlife trails, a boardwalk and an observation tower. Wheelchair-accessible facilities include the headquarters building, observation tower and Bayview/Butterfly Trail.
Limited hunting of white-tailed deer is permitted. Contact the refuge for details.
Fishing and crabbing, as well as boating, are also permitted within the refuge. From April 1 to September 3, facilities for crabbing and car-top boat launching are available at the Ingleside Recreation Area, on the northwest side of the refuge.
