White Pines Forest State Park preserves about 385 acres of pine-hardwood forest and limestone bluffs.
During the 1930s, the Civilian Conservation Corps built a lodge and cabins at the center of the park and helped build footpaths.
The historic and architectural significance of the park and its buildings have earned White Pines a spot on the National Registry of Historic Places.
The lodge now houses a restaurant that offers dinner theater much of the year.
The park has five miles of hiking trails and is home to many species of birds and wildlife. There is a small stream for fishing. Bicyclists must stay on established roads.
The park has 106 campsites. Some of the sites can accommodate an RV, but there are no hookups.
