One of the state's most fascinating natural features is the network of limestone caves at Florida Caverns State Park.
In a series of connecting rooms, visitors see a myriad of formations including soda straws, stalactites, stalagmites, rimstones, flowstones and draperies. Guided cave tours are offered daily except Christmas and Thanksgiving.
The 1,300-acre park also offers fishing and canoeing on the Chipola River, as well as swimming, camping, and picnicking.
Stables and equestrian camping facilities are available for visitors who bring their horses. There are also two networks of nature trails and six miles of multi-use trails.
