Home to four small beaches, Half Moon Bay State Beach offers visitors two miles of beautiful sandy beaches.
A special attraction of the beach is the horseback trail and nearby private stables with rental horses. The trail skirts the beach, running parallel to the ocean.
Surfing, surf fishing, picnicking and camping are also popular activities here. The Francis Campground was recently remodeled.
Swimming is not recommended.
Campers enjoy unique campsites, including special sites for hikers and bicyclists. Some of the family campsites are wheelchair-accessible.
The park is located one-half mile west of Hwy. 1 on Kelly Avenue in Half Moon Bay.
