Visitors who want to swim, canoe, fish, surf, picnic and camp will find a beautiful and relaxed setting for those activities at El Capitán State Beach.
A sandy beach, rocky tide pools, bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean and stands of sycamore and oaks along El Capitán Creek provide unique settings for a host of recreational activities.
A 2.5-mile bike trail connects the park to Refugio State Beach, just west of El Capitán. Both parks are off Route 101 west of Santa Barbara.
Campers enjoy 140 developed family campsites, with special sites for hikers and bicyclists.
Hiking and nature trails skirt the shore and guided tours are available.
