Located 15 miles south of Lake Havasu City, 2,000-acre Cattail Cove State Park is an exceptional watersport park and the beaches, boat ramp and campsites are popular year-round.
In addition to lakeside camping at the park, there are 28 secluded boat-in campsites along the shore of Lake Havasu between Cattail Cove and Windsor Beach.
Lake Havasu was formed when the Colorado River was dammed at the city of Parker, Ariz. Anglers fish for largemouth and striped bass, bluegill and crappie.
The area is also a rockhound's hunting ground. Volcanic rock, geodes, jaspers, obsidian, turquoise and agate are found outside Lake Havasu City.
