Old Davidsonville State Park is located in the northeastern foothills of the Ozark Mountains in Randolph County. It is situated near the confluence of the Black, Eleven Point and Spring rivers.
Surrounded by oak trees and historic woodlands, the state park preserves the community of Davidsonville, a small town established in 1815.
Davidsonville was home to Arkansas' first courthouse, post office and land office. The town declined in 1829 when new trade routes bypassed it.
Few remains of the town are visible, however archaeological excavations have revealed pieces of plates and cups, bricks, mortar, tools and other artifacts. Researchers continue to compile a picture of the town as it was in the early 19th century.
Camping is available at 24 campsites with water and electricity. Located at a primitive "tent-only" area, we offer 20 sites with water available.
The Black River and nearby Spring and Eleven Point rivers offer boating, fishing and a free launch ramp. There is also an 11-acre fishing lake where visitors can rent motorless fishing boats, pedal boats and canoes.
Picnicking, a visitors center and interpretive programs are also available. The trail in the historic Davidsonville townsite is wheelchair-accessible.
