The 938-acre DeGray Lake Resort State Park is nestled among the tall pines of the Ouachita Mountains on the shores of 13,800-acre DeGray Lake.
Swimming, scenic boat tours, hiking, tennis, biking and golf are available at the park. Although known primarily as a recreation lake, DeGray is a fishing paradise for beginners and experts.
Several species of bass, bream, slab crappie and catfish inhabit the lake in abundance. Visitors can fish from the bank with cane poles or venture out to the islands of the lake, where wooded coves and deep clean water are ideal for year-round fishing.
A full-service marina offers tackle, dock space, fuel and boat rentals.
Short hiking trails meander through the woods, with the Green Heron Trail providing some of the best birdwatching in the park.
The park, off Scenic Byway 7, offers guided horseback trail rides through woodlands and along the lakeshore.
Park activities also include seasonal special events, slide presentations, movies and outdoor workshops. There is also a golf course and driving range.
