Cane Creek State Park covers 2,053 acres of woodlands along 1,675-acre Cane Creek Lake. The park straddles two major natural divisions in Arkansas: the West Gulf Coastal Plain and the Mississippi Alluvial Plain.
The landscape is characterized by a series of deep gullies and steeply sloping ridges, which are common in the West Gulf Coastal Plain. This landscape is best experienced by hiking or biking the 2.5-mile Delta View Trail.
The Mississippi Alluvial Plain, known as the "Delta," offers some of the best fishing in Arkansas. The shallow, timber-filled waters of Cane Creek Lake provide excellent habitat for warm-water fish, including bass, crappie, sunfish and bream.
Access to the lake is facilitated by a free launch ramp, free parking and wheelchair-accessible fishing piers.
The park also offers a beautiful wooded camping area, with 30 campsites, water, electrical hookups, a modern bathhouse and grills. Campers must register at the visitor center before occupying a site. Ten sites are available for reservation.
The state park's visitor center includes the camping reservations office, exhibits describing the park's plants and wildlife, a gift shop, and historic photographs of the area. Park staff provide guided walks, kayak tours, nature programs and other services.
Mountain bikes and kayaks are available for rent.
