The Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument showcases the plants and animals that are uniquely adapted to surviving the Sonoran Desert's infrequent rainfall and intense heat.
The monument contains most of the towering organ pipe cactus found in the United States.
The park offers camping, scenic drives, hiking, birdwatching and outstanding nature photography opportunities. Several trails offer hikers a close look at the beauty of the desert.
In addition, experienced desert hikers have many choices for cross-country hiking. A backcountry camping permit is required.
Mountain biking is allowed on scenic drives and other designated roadways, but not on hiking trails.
The park maintains one developed campground and a small primitive campground.
