Chiricahua National Monument is a spectacular wilderness of rocky crags and spires known as the Wonderland of Rocks.
It is located within the ancestral home area of Cochise and the Chiricahua Apaches. The park is nearly surrounded by the Coronado National Forest and is a noted wildlife and birdwatching area.
Visitors hike, picnic, and travel the eight-mile scenic drive to Massai Point, which overlooks the canyon. Tours are given of historic Faraway Ranch, a homestead turned guest ranch.
Camping is limited to the 24-site campground. One campsite is wheelchair-accessible. Backcountry camping is permitted in the adjacent national forest.
There is a new wheelchair-accessible trail at Massai Point that provides excellent views of Rhyolite Canyon and its rock pinnacles.
