Believed to be the largest bridge of its type in the world, Tonto Natural Bridge is 180 feet high and crosses a 400-foot tunnel. It was discovered more than a century ago by a prospector who was fleeing Apaches.
Hidden in a pine-shrouded valley, the bridge today is the centerpiece of this 160-acre day-use park. Hikers can examine the bridge from the top or from below.
Other sights include an historic lodge. Visitors can also picnic or swim in Pine Creek, north or south of the bridge.
