Skirting the War Eagle River in the heart of the Ozark Mountains, Withrow Springs is a peaceful setting for camping and quiet river fishing and canoeing.
Canoes are available for rent, and there is shuttle service to and from a launch site along the river.
Activities include swimming and fishing for catfish, bream, perch and bass.
Foot trails along the river explore hills, ravines and ridges. The trails range from .75 mile to 2.5 miles.
In summer, there are guided nature programs for children and adults.
Picnic sites skirt a spring that flows from a small cave, and there are 47 campsites with full services. There are shower facilities, a dump station, and electrical and water hookups for trailer camping.
The park is on Hwy. 23, five miles north of Huntsville and 20 miles south of Eureka Springs. It is open year-round, but some facilities are closed in winter.
