Perched at the confluence of Crooked Creek and the Kasilof River, the Crooked Creek State Recreation Site offers outstanding king salmon fishing in May and June.
Visitors fish from the banks of the Kasilof for these outstanding salmon.
Crooked Creek, near the town of Kasilof, is also popular for a small steelhead run in spring and fall. During summer, sockeye and silver salmon are available. Dolly Varden are present year-round.
The area offers 80 campsite and 36 day use parking spaces.
It is situated about 16 miles from Kenai, Mile 111 of the Sterling Highway off Coho Loop Road.
The trail to the river is wheelchair-accessible.
The park charges for camping and parking.
