Excellent fishing attracts many visitors to this 600-acre park.
Quartz Lake is stocked with rainbow trout and silver salmon. A fishing dock makes it accessible to all ages and abilities. In winter, the lake becomes a playground for snowmobilers and families who rent huts for ice-fishing.
Adjacent Lost Lake is a quieter retreat, a favorite with canoeists, picnickers and nature lovers, who watch for moose and waterfowl. In winter, the lake is ideal for ice skating.
The roadway through the park is scenic and offers glimpses of the famous Alaska pipeline.
Facilities include 80 campsites, a boat launch and a short hiking trail.
Quartz Lake is easily accessible from the Richardson Highway between Delta Junction and Fairbanks.
The park is not staffed in winter, but public use is permitted.
