This park, covering 1,445 acres along Lake Martin, is one of the Southeast's biggest campgrounds, with 626 sites on 320 acres. Some camping cabins are also available.
Access to this 41,000-acre man made lake is key. Facilities are laid out so visitors can fish from their picnic areas or pull their boats right up to a campsite. Anglers on the shore, out on the water or on the parks 210-foot pier, fish for bass, bluegill, catfish and crappie.
Two hiking trails, totaling eight miles, lead trekkers through a variety of habitats, from hardwood-studded ridges to the lakeshore.
